Apple has unveiled a significantly expanded retail presence in Montreal with the opening of its new Sainte-Catherine store. The reimagined space, situated at the intersection of Sainte-Catherine Street West and Rue de la Montagne, more than doubles the size of Apple’s previous location on the same street, reinforcing the company’s commitment to the city.
The store’s design seamlessly integrates historic elements with contemporary retail aesthetics. The façade incorporates Saint-Marc stone from Quebec alongside local granite, while copper artisans have restored the building’s cornice. Inside, the space is designed to be inclusive and welcoming, featuring varied seating options and improved accessibility for wheelchair users. A dedicated Apple Pickup area and an expanded Genius Bar are among the new features, offering customers a more streamlined shopping experience.
Apple Sainte-Catherine will also host a range of educational sessions under its Today at Apple program, covering topics such as photography, video editing, and assistive technologies like VoiceOver. The store’s team of nearly 200 specialists, fluent in dozens of languages, will provide personalized support, flexible financing options, and competitive trade-in values.
To celebrate the opening, Montreal-based illustrator Catherine Potvin will lead live art demonstrations on iPad over the weekend, offering customers a unique creative experience. The event also includes opportunities for participants to receive custom illustrations on their Apple retail bags.
This latest addition brings Apple’s total number of stores in Canada to 28, with five now operating in Quebec. The company has been active in the region for over four decades and continues to foster local creativity through curated content, including a special Apple Music playlist inspired by Sainte-Catherine Street.
