Mionix has returned to the gaming peripheral market with a flagship wireless mouse designed for precision and speed in fast-paced shooters. The Avior Air Carbon Fiber model marks the company’s reentry after a multi-year absence, focusing on lightweight construction and high-performance wireless connectivity.

The new mouse features a handcrafted carbon fiber shell, a rear-placed hump for optimized grip, and support for polling rates up to 8000 Hz with a response time of just 0.125 ms. It is built around Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF54H20 platform, which powers both the mouse and its dedicated RF dongle, enabling native 8K wireless operation.

Redesigned for FPS Precision

The Avior Air Carbon Fiber replaces Mionix’s previous AVIOR design with a back-loaded body shape intended to better accommodate claw, fingertip, and hybrid grip styles. This geometry is said to improve control during rapid aim adjustments and micro-corrections, which are critical in competitive FPS games.

The mouse also introduces separate carbon fiber panels for the left and right primary buttons, improving click consistency and separation. The body itself is constructed from handmade woven carbon fiber, heat-formed and CNC-trimmed to reduce weight while maintaining rigidity and durability.

Performance and Practicality

  • Weight: 42 g ±2 g (with PTFE dot feet)
  • Sensor: PixArt PAW3950 IR optical sensor (up to 30,000 DPI, 750 IPS tracking speed, 50G acceleration)
  • Switches: Raesha optical-mechanical hybrid microswitches (100 million clicks rated)
  • Feet System: Dual Glide System with replaceable PTFE dot feet and full-size tempered glass skates
  • Battery Life: 40+ hours at maximum polling rate, front-mounted USB-C charging with play-while-charging support
  • Software: Mionix Galaxy Web Software for DPI adjustment, button programming, lift-of-distance tuning, and surface analysis tools

The mouse is designed to eliminate unnecessary features in favor of performance. It lacks built-in lighting, prioritizing weight reduction and battery life instead. The front-mounted USB-C port allows charging while gaming, with a front-positioned LED indicating battery status.

For competitive FPS players, the Avior Air Carbon Fiber offers a combination of ultra-low weight, high polling rates, and precise tracking that could appeal to those prioritizing responsiveness over additional features. However, its $300 price point positions it as a premium, limited-edition model rather than a mainstream option.

Pre-orders for the Avior Air Carbon Fiber will open on May 5th, with deliveries expected in early August. A 20% pre-order discount is available until the end of May or until stock runs out.
