BenQ has added a 27-inch 144 Hz monitor to its RD Series, a line dedicated to programmers and developers. The new model, the RD270Q, is part of an expanding lineup that started in 2024 with a focus on productivity-focused displays.

The RD270Q features a WQHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 at a native 144 Hz refresh rate, which is notable for its smoothness even outside gaming contexts. This is particularly beneficial for developers who often scroll through large documents or code. The monitor also boasts a 1300:1 contrast ratio, 350 cd/m² brightness, and 178° viewing angles. It comes with a matte finish using BenQ's Nano Matte coating to reduce reflections.

The RD270Q includes three dedicated programming modes: Light, Dark, and Color Paper, along with M-book mode for MacBook color matching and an ePaper mode designed for long reading sessions. It supports AMD FreeSync for smoother visuals and comes equipped with HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, and a USB-C port with 65 W power delivery. A pair of 2 W speakers is included for basic audio.

The stand offers tilt, swivel, pivot adjustments, and up to 130 mm of height adjustment, allowing the display to pivot into portrait orientation for vertical code viewing. The monitor is priced around $400.

This new addition to the RD Series expands BenQ's offerings in the productivity monitor market, providing developers with a high-refresh-rate display tailored to their needs. While it may not offer the same aspect ratio as some competitors, its features like multiple programming modes and high refresh rate make it a strong contender for those seeking a dedicated developer monitor.
