While most players will fall to this boss, it is possible to defeat it and receive some rewards for your efforts. However, the fight is really difficult because you lack the advanced abilities such as Parry, Power Weapons, and Second Chance (free revive) unlocked later in the game. The Consort is one of the most challenging bosses in the game If you manage to defeat the Consort, you are rewarded with a cache of Lucenite and 1 Halcyon to jumpstart your suit upgrades. While the rewards aren't rare, they do provide a helpful head start. Beating the Consort is more about the achievement, as it is one of the most challenging bosses in the game due to your limited starting kit. The Consort Boss Strategy Defense First Defense should be your priority in this fight, due to Arjun's low health To survive with your limited health, you must play conservatively. Defense is your absolute priority, as you cannot afford to take too many hits. When the boss launches red projectiles (the Nova Projectiles you can parry later in the game), you must dodge. Do not attempt to use your shield, as these will break your guard instantly. When the boss unleashes fast-moving homing bullets alongside vertical stationary lasers, stop focusing on the boss. Keep your shield up to absorb the bullets and prepare to jump to avoid ground shockwaves. Like the red bullets, these shockwaves will deplete your shield entirely if they connect. One of the most dangerous attacks of the Consort are vertical lasers unleashed one after another. Watch for the glow at the starting point of the laser and time your dodge the moment you see it. If the boss fires red variants of the homing bullets, dodge as they start closing in. Keep your shield up as a backup, as, at full Power, it can absorb at least one of these if your dodge timing is off. When to Attack Attack only when the opportunity arises Your offensive windows of opportunity are narrow in the fight against the Consort. Fire at the boss only when there are no lasers on screen, as their absence makes handling every other threat more manageable as you deal damage to the enemy. Your Handcannon has a built-in Auto-Aim ability, so you don't need to aim accurately to deal damage, so focus on your movement while holding down the trigger. The weapon's Alt-Fire is somewhat inaccurate unless you are directly in the boss's face.
