Bungie’s upcoming extraction shooter Marathon will arrive on March 5, 2026, the company confirmed after an unintended leak from the Xbox Store. The reveal came as players were already familiarized with the game through multiple closed-beta tests and leaked gameplay footage.
The official announcement included a trailer that mirrored one previously shared online, though this time without the abrupt cutoff that had earlier obscured details about the Collector’s Edition. That edition promises physical rewards such as a 1/6-scale Thief Runner Shell statue, a WEAVEworm miniature, embroidered patch, and postcards—all in addition to digital cosmetics.
Marathon’s world is set on the fictional planet Tau Ceti IV, populated by characters voiced by an array of industry veterans. At launch, the game will feature performances from actors like Ben Starr (Final Fantasy XVI), Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate 3), Jennifer English (Clair Obscur: Expedition 33), and Roger Clark (Red Dead Redemption 2). A blog post on Bungie’s site suggests more voices may join the cast later, but the initial lineup is already impressive.
Pre-orders unlock cosmetic rewards for Marathon itself, including weapon skins, charms, and emblems. Those who opt for the Deluxe Edition receive an additional premium rewards pass voucher, 200 Silk Rewards tokens, and exclusive skins for four Runner Shells. The Collector’s Edition bundles all digital perks with its physical items.
Pricing starts at $39.99 for the standard edition, while the Deluxe Edition is priced at $59.99. Both editions will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S with full cross-play and cross-save support.
