Espressif Systems has unveiled the ESP32-E22, a groundbreaking Radio Co-Processor (RCP) that brings tri-band Wi-Fi 6E to market for the first time. This new addition to Espressif's product lineup is built on a dual-core RISC-V processor architecture and integrates advanced wireless capabilities, including support for Bluetooth Classic and Low Energy 5.4. The ESP32-E22 is engineered to deliver high throughput and low-latency performance, making it ideal for demanding applications in consumer and industrial sectors.
The ESP32-E22 stands out with its support for Wi-Fi 6E across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands. It leverages a 160 MHz channel bandwidth, 2×2 MU-MIMO, Beamforming, and advanced link-layer scheduling to ensure robust performance in congested environments. This makes it particularly suitable for high-bandwidth applications such as streaming, wireless video links, and next-generation smart-home hubs.
At the heart of the ESP32-E22 is a dual-core 500 MHz RISC-V processor developed in-house by Espressif. This processor enables efficient protocol handling and supports advanced modulation schemes, including 1024-QAM, achieving data rates of up to 2.4 Gbps. The co-processor also integrates a Bluetooth controller that supports both Classic (BR/EDR) and Low Energy 5.4, ensuring seamless interoperability with legacy and modern Bluetooth devices.
The ESP32-E22 is designed as a flexible wireless platform for a wide range of devices.
