Magic: The Gathering’s latest foray into the Fallout universe promises a deeper dive than ever before, blending elements from the games with the TV series in a set of four Secret Lair drops. The most anticipated addition is a dedicated card featuring The Ghoul, Maximus, and Lucy, characters who have become iconic since their debut in the show. This isn’t just a callback to the original games—it’s a deliberate expansion into the world that has captivated fans since 2019.
Lucy, for instance, gets dual representation: one card showcases her armored vault suit emerging from the Super Duper Mart, while another captures the chaotic energy of her wedding night in the cornfield. Maximus also makes a second appearance, this time inside the T-60 Power Armor, which earns its own card. The TV series clearly left a lasting impression on Wizards of the Coast, and these cards reflect that.
But the set isn’t solely focused on the show. Five New Vegas-themed cards bring back familiar faces like Benny and Joshua Graham, along with landmarks such as the Custom Caravan Deck and the Sunset Sarsaparilla Machine. The latter is a reskinned version of an existing card, reusing mechanics from the original Fallout expansion’s Nuka-Cola Vending Machine—a choice that satisfies nostalgia but may leave some players craving fresh gameplay twists.
Dogmeat isn’t forgotten either, with five new cards expanding on his role, including a Sol Ring-themed design for his water bowl. Meanwhile, the Rad Superdrop introduces mutant and mutation-themed cards like The Wise Mothman, adding depth to the set’s lore while maintaining its signature aesthetic.
The Rad Superdrop is scheduled for release on January 26, offering collectors another opportunity to immerse themselves in Fallout’s world through Magic: The Gathering. While some cards reuse existing mechanics, the inclusion of TV series characters and landmarks ensures this collaboration remains a standout moment in both franchises’ histories.
