The John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando* trailer has arrived, and it’s a gory, adrenaline-fueled love letter to 80s action-horror—think Commando meets The Thing, but with zombies. Developed by the team behind Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and World War Z*, this new IP drops players into a semi-open world teeming with Saber’s twisted Swarm technology, which mutates endless waves of the undead into grotesque, relentless hordes.
The gameplay preview showcases four distinct classes—Strike, Medic, Operator, and Defender—each with unique abilities, paired with a staggering arsenal of 16 primary weapons (shotguns, sniper rifles, machetes, even crowbars) and an assortment of secondaries. Players can team up in four-player co-op via matchmaking or private lobbies, with full cross-play support across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Movement isn’t just walking—vehicles like armored trucks and slime-resistant rides become key tools for crushing zombies under wheels while navigating the apocalyptic landscape. The trailer hints at a mix of structured missions and open-ended chaos, where survival hinges on teamwork, adaptability, and sheer firepower.
Demo and Pre-Order Incentives
A playable demo lands February 19–March 2 on Steam, offering a taste of the carnage. Pre-orders for the Standard or Blood Edition (available now) unlock Leon’s Secret Stash DLC for free. The Blood Edition also includes the Bloody Pass, featuring two post-launch DLC packs with cosmetic upgrades: weapon skins, character outfits, and a gold-colored weapon charm.
The game launches March 12, 2026, on all three platforms. For fans of cooperative shooters with a side of horror, this could be the chaotic, blood-soaked experience they’ve been waiting for.
